Personal And Corporate Consultations With Mike Nelson
"Give a person a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a person how to fish and he can eat for the rest of his life."
As Executive Director of Clutterless Recovery Groups, a nationwide organization that he started from scratch, Mike Nelson knows how to overcome cluttering behavior. Since he was what he thought was a hopeless clutterer, he knows the challenges you face. He faces them still, only he has learned to change his ingrained cluttering behavior, change his way of thinking and stay reasonably organized. He doesn't promise you pie-in-the-sky rules that will keep you organized. They don't work. He promises you practical techniques that have worked for real clutterers like you and he.
Mike Nelson has helped countless clutterers through his books. He has presented seminars on practical decluttering nationwide. He has personally worked as a personal coach and clutter coach with many clutterers, hoarders and disorganized businesspeople. What makes Mike's approach different than a typical professional organizer is that he offers you a long-term solution. Learning how to organize will not make you organized. You can learn how to make a cake, read several recipes, get all the nifty cook's tools and lay out the right ingredients, but that doesn't bake the cake. You have to use the tools, add the right combination of ingredients for your taste and do the work.
Mike will teach you how to combine the ingredients you already have and put them to the best use for you. You will have to address the underlying causes of why you clutter, learn visualization and learn to focus in very small increments of time. You will have to change your whole way of thinking about your cluttering.
Mike can help you. While he has gone to hoarder's and clutterer's houses across the nation, most his work can be done over the phone. You must commit to at least 4 weekly sessions or you are wasting your time. Cost is $50 a session (up to an hour, though usually less, it is up to you). Sometimes that's all you need.
