Clutterless Recovery Groups Relations With The Medical Community

Therapist Referrals

Deciding on therapy is an individual decision. There are many paths to our ultimate destination. Clutterless Recovery Groups Inc. provides this list of psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors who recognize that cluttering is often often one of a cluster of behaviors relating to other, diagnosable conditions, especially depression, anxiety and AD/HD. While hoarding and OCD may result in extreme cases of cluttering, most clutterers are not hoarders. Our recommendations come from personal contacts or recommendations by fellow clutterers.

Clutterless Recovery Groups Inc. has no opinion on therapy or medications. Clutterless respects psychiatric professionals and values their input and advice. We neither discourage, nor recommend, that our members choose therapy. If a member is in therapy, we believe that our approach enhances their recovery, but in no way do we comment on, or give advice regarding their treatment. No group leader claims to be a therapist and we do not consider what we do  group therapy. We are individuals facing the same challenges and offer each other support, based on our own personal experience.

Our founder is not a psychiatric professional. His opinions are only those of a layman. He has personally undergone therapy and has more than 20 years in 12-Step recovery programs. When writing the principles of this group, he received opinions and input from psychiatric professionals.  The only psychiatric training he underwent was as a certified suicide prevention counselor, many years ago. The main thing this taught him was to listen to people and to empathize, but not sympathize.

Psychiatrists, psychologists and counselors are welcome to attend meetings and are given time to discuss their ideas of treatment or methods of helping.

Any therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists listed below are presented as a public service. They are based on personal recommendations by clutterers themselves and not of Clutterless Recovery Groups Inc. No endorsement is expressed or implied.

If you have a psychiatric professional you'd like to recommend, please email the suggestion to us.
